Ordering

PGI Furniture Ltd T/A CHATTELS specialise in modern furniture, lighting and accessories . We supply interior designers, architects and contract clients as well as direct to the public through our store and this website. Our extensive range of leading furniture designers and manufacturers has been selected with you in mind.

When an order is placed in store, a deposit of 35% is required with the balance falling due prior to delivery. With on-line orders payment must be made in full when placing an order.

Payment Methods

All prices shown are in £ (GBP) sterling, and are inclusive of UK VAT at 17.5%.
We accept all major credit cards; MasterCard, Solo, Visa, Visa Debit/Delta, Visa Electron and Switch/UK Maestro.

Your Order

You will receive confirmation that we have your order by e-mail or post. Please print or keep this copy for your own records. This does not mean we have accepted your order. Once your address has been verified and your credit has been approved your order will be accepted and the item shipped subject to our usual trading terms and conditions.

If a product is ordered from a supplier or if you have specific requirements, an order may take longer before it is in stock. Delivery times for products ordered from suppliers vary.

Product Information

All prices quoted are in British pounds sterling and  include delivery and installation  within a forty mile radius  of us in Chester. Charges will apply further afield. CHATTELS make every attempt to keep all prices up to dates, however, if the price quoted is lower than the correct price at the time we will contact you to advise you of the true cost and await your confirmation before processing the order. However, if the correct price is lower than the quoted price we will charge you the lower price.

CHATTELS reserves the right to make adjustments to our prices in unforeseen circumstances such as supplier’s cost increase, new taxes and currency inflations.

At  CHATTELS we go to great lengths to illustrate and describe our products as accurately as possible. However, please be aware colours may vary due to the screen settings of your own monitor screen. If an exact colour match is vital, we recommend you order a sample swatch by contacting us on 01244 322280.

Every care is taken to ensure descriptions and measurements are accurate, however slight variations may occur. Packaging may also vary from that shown.

Due to the inherent nature of natural products made from materials such as leather and wood, it is not possible to guarantee that these items will have the same colour, shade, pattern or finish as the images viewed on the website. We also cannot guarantee that goods ordered at different times will match exactly.

Glass items may also have slight imperfections caused by the thermal process during creation. This can be considered a distinguishing feature of the craftsman work, which makes each piece unique.

Delivery times are estimates and not exact dates, CHATTELS are not held liable for any change in delivery times once an order has been placed.

Storage

Free storage is available in the CHATTELS warehouse for a period of two weeks from the date of arrival. Should you require storage for a longer period of time a fee of 2% on the invoice total will be charged on a weekly basis thereafter.

Delivery

Your order will be delivered to you at the delivery address you supply to us at the time you make your order. CHATTELS will do their utmost to deliver all orders within the lead times given, however, these cannot be guaranteed. Special order items may take longer to deliver.

All orders will require a signature upon receipt.

For all overseas orders, ‘Goods in Transit Insurance’ is not included and is the responsibility of the buyer. If required a quotation can be provided. Please be aware that the goods are the customer’s responsibility from the point that we attempt to delivery them and the customer must accept the goods when they are ready to be delivered.

Where the Customer does not comply with our attempts to deliver the goods we reserve the right to cancel the entire or part of the order and charge the customer costs to cover storage, delivery, shipping and insurance of the goods.

CHATTELS will retain the title until such time that the goods have been paid for in full.

Please note that we are unable to change an item after it has been entered into production. Please note that it is the responsibility of the customer to check the access to their property and ensure that the item will fit through all doorways, stairwells and within the area of intended use.

Circumstances Beyond our Control

CHATTELS reserve the right to vary, cancel or suspend the sale if events occur which are beyond our control and shall not be held liable for any breach of contract resulting from such an occurrence.

Refunds and Returns

Goods Made to Order

If the customer is unsure whether the product they wish to order is included in this category then they should contact us on 01244 322280 for clarification.

For any bespoke orders please note that CHATTELS will not be able to change any such orders, make a refund or exchange any item that has been entered into production as per the customer’s own specification in a specific finish, colour, upholstery colour or size.

General Conditions

Customers should only order if they are sure that the item and finish is right for the customer’s needs as the customer will not be able to change the order after the item has been entered into production.

It is very important that the customer checks access to their property as delivery is on the basis that the dimensions of the product fits through all doorways, stairwells and within the area of intended use.

Once an order has been processed the customer is liable to purchase the items.

Standard items – Damaged or Faulty

Should an item be received damaged or defective, a replacement will be manufactured and will be delivered as soon as possible based on the following procedure:

1. Inspect your purchases immediately upon receipt as no claim for replacement can be made after 3 days.

2. Any claim regarding an item/s damaged or defective must be made initially by telephone or email, followed by a written claim.

3. All products being returned must be adequately packed or the original packaging to prevent damage.

4.Where items are large or fragile we reserve the right to nominate a specialist furniture handler for return transit and pass the cost of delivery onto the Customer. This transportation charge will be charged each time the Customer accepts a returns collection date but then subsequently fails to meet.

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel the contract between us if we do not have sufficient stock to fulfil your order or if we do not deliver to your area.

All personal/company information provided by you or to gathered by CHATTELS is kept private. We will not share any information gathered with third parties unless stated or permission is otherwise granted

What information do we collect and how is it used?
If you give us any contact details while conducting business with us they will be kept private but may be stored on our systems for marketing and research purposes. They will not be sold or distributed to any third party. If you would like us to delete your information from our system(s) please contact us.

We may collect your telephone number during regular business and also in case we need to contact you urgently if there is a problem or query with your order.

We may also use the order details to occasionally notify you about changes to the web site, new services and special offers we think you may find useful. You can opt out by contacting us.

Is my information protected?
The UK Data Protection Legislation dictates that we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us.

Liability

CHATTELS will not be liable for any business loss (including loss of profits, revenue, contracts, anticipated savings, data, goodwill or wasted expenditure) or any other indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable by either party at the time the contract for sale was formed. We shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question (minus any delivery charge). If the goods are not what you ordered, are damaged or defective in any way, or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, we shall have no liability if you have not informed us of the problem within 3 working days of the delivery of the goods in question.

CHATTELS will not be liable for any defects in the goods caused by any act, neglect or default by you or any third party.

Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit your consumer or statutory rights.

Entire Agreement

These terms and conditions, including our current website prices, delivery details, contact details and data protection and privacy policy, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of the goods to you by us. English law governs these terms and conditions.
